Many industries utilize the D77E or thermally improved D78E traction motors in oil rigging applications. However, railways utilize these models in locomotive applications where the highest torque is required. The one piece pinion shaft design eliminates the pinion slip in the service and eliminated the over speed on the DC excited motor.
